Nayanthara Opens Up About Being Asked For Favours For Lead Role In A Film

Nayanthara is one of the rare actors that have shone in the Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam cinema industries. She is also one of the highest-paid actors in South Indian film. Many actors in the Indian film and television industries have spoken about their encounters with the casting couch. Nayanthara has opened up that she too had to encounter the same which she refused boldly. She recently revealed this at a media discussion.

Nayanthara was most recently seen in the horror flick Connect. And she will soon appear in Jawan alongside Shah Rukh Khan. She married filmmaker Vignesh Shivan in an intimate wedding last year. The pair welcomed twin boys via surrogacy a few months later. Nayanthara said in a recent media interview that she was previously solicited for 'favors' if she wanted to land a key role in the film. She stated she denied it "boldly" since she felt she could establish a name for herself on the basis of her own talent. Last month, the 38-year-old performer admitted that her career hasn't been easy. She told that the ups and downs have taught her a lot. She told in an interview, "There is so much that I have learnt, so much that I have gone through, but it is all been nice. Whatever mistakes I have made, the good and bad phases (I have been through), everything is good now. It is all a learning experience. It is not easy to be in the industry for 18-19 years, but the audience and God have been kind to me. I feel blessed. I don’t know how to put the whole thing together (in words)." “If you are honest to your craft, if you do your work well, it works. The audience connects with you. They fall in love with you, they celebrate you, which becomes the biggest joy of life,” she said.
