Maniratnam who is set great comeback with Chekka Chivantha Vaanam now all set to begin his most ambitious project Ponniyin Selvan very soon. This is an adaptation of the novel written by Kalki. This project will be produced by Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies jointly. The main cast as already been announced by the makers and also the roles played by them was also finalized recently.
Jayam Ravi will be seen as Arulmozhi Varman, Keerthy Suresh playing Kunthavai Naachiyaar role, Chiyaan Vikram as Aditya Karikaalan and Karthi as Vanthiya Devan which are said to be powerful characters, Aishwarya Rai Bachan as Nandhini which has negative traits and Amitabh Bachan as Sundara Chozhar. Looking at the star cast it looks like Maniratnam all set to give a visual treat with a huge star cast.
As per the reports, it looks like the star cast has a new addition. Lady Superstar Nayanthara to join Team Ponniyin Selvan. Sources say that she was contacted for the role Poonguzhali. This particular character will be most important as it leads to major twists in the plot. We still await an official announcement from the makers though.
Nayanthara who is very busy with some humongous projects in her kitty. Currently filming for Thalapathy63 directed by Atlee and also bagged lady lead opposite Thalaivar Rajinikanth again for the project directed by AR Murugadoss. She had new movie Airaa release last Friday and another movie with Siva Karthikeyan titled Mr. Local to release in May.
