Young director Prasanth Varma made a striking debut with the film Awe. Starring bigwigs like Kajal, Nitya Menen, Eesha Rebba and Regina Cassandra, Awe was a box office hit and also got acclaimed by many critics. It was a new-age film and gave a unique experience for the Telugu audiences.
A few months back, Prasanth said that he is working on Awe 2 and will take it on floors very soon. But a couple of days back, he tweeted that he couldn't take Awe 2 on floors as he is unable to find a producer. His tweet read, "For everyone who's been asking me about Awe 2... Thank you so much for your interest in the project. I have finished writing the script almost a year back and it is much crazier than Awe. But I couldn't mount it cause I couldn't find a producer whose craziness matches that of the script. Trust me, guys...I really tried. So it happens when it happens."
Awe got bankrolled by Nani. When Prasanth said that he is unable to find a producer for Awe 2, the media started speculating that even Nani has rejected Awe 2 as he is not satisfied with the script. But Prasanth cleared it off as a rumor.
"I didn’t approach @NameisNanigaru for #Awe2 as he is only keen on introducing new talent through @walpostercinema. Hope that clears some speculations," tweeted Prasanth Varma this morning. Let's see if any producer comes forward to produce this crazy sequel.
