Shahid Kapoor, at a recent event, hit back at those who criticized Kabir Singh. He questioned why nobody had a problem with other films that are too stereotypical and misogynistic compared to his 'Kabir Singh'.
Talking about the criticism over his film 'Kabir Singh', Shahid Kapoor said, "No one brought up Baazigar when SRK kills Shilpa Shetty. No one said anything about Ranbir Kapoor putting a commode seat on Sonam Kapoor's neck... in Sanju." The actor further said that 'Kabir Singh' was about a flawed character who didn't know how to handle himself.
When asked about the film and how he approached the character, Shahid Kapoor explained, "If you think cinema is an educational institution that you're taught what you should or should not to do, that's your choice. Cinema is meant to mirror life. It's about representing the truth. It's an adult film, for adults, who can distinguish between right and wrong."
