Not a remake of Tamil cop film - Team Rohit Shetty confirms

There were several rumors in circulation that Rohit Shetty bought the rights of Tamil cop thriller Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru starring Suriya's brother Karthi, Rakul Preet Singh directed by debutant H.Vinoth. It is also said that though Theeran film will be very intense but in Hindi Rohit Shetty will modify it and adapt in his style with his trademark touch for Akshay Kumar's Sooryavanshi. Team Rohit Shetty officially denied this news and said that it is completely false. Sooryavanshi is not a remake of Tamil film Theeran.
The official statement is as follows "This is to clarify that the news is completely untrue and baseless. Akshay Kumar starrer Sooryavanshi, which is produced and directed by Rohit Shetty, is an original story and not inspired from any film". Akshay Kumar will play the role Veer Sooryavanshi. Rohit Shetty has already given the brief of Akshay's character in his latest directorial Simmba with the tremendous cameo of Akshay. Rohit also has plans to collaborate Singam, Simmba and Sooryavanshi all his cop characters together just as we can see in Marvel movies, Avengers.
Apart from Sooryavanshi, Akshay also filming for Kesari produced by Karan Johar and also for Good News, in this movie he is pairing up with Kareena Kapoor. Other movies in Akshay's line up include Mission Mangal and Housefull-4.
