Not Rohit Shetty, but the production assistant told me that I'm not part of Sooryavanshi anymore- veteran actress Neena Gupta

Veteran actress Neena Gupta started off her second innings with a bang by scoring a stupendous hit with Badhaai Ho. After that, Neena is being flooded with new offers. She has also done a key role in Akshay Kumar's upcoming film Sooryavanshi. Neena played the role of Akshay's mother in it. After shooting a few scenes with her, director Rohit Shetty felt that there is no point in including the mother character in the film and decided to remove it. However, Neena came to know about the news through a production assistant but not Rohit Shetty. Thus, she had exited from the project in midway.

 

Speaking in a recent interview, Neena said that she came to know about the news through a production assistant. After knowing it, Neena didn't have a word with Rohit Shetty and neither did he. Neena says that there is no point in talking when the makers decided to remove the entire role from the film. She also said that it is good to remove a character in the midway rather than chopping it off on the editing table. Neena also added that next time Rohit is making a film, she will go to him and ask a role in it.

 

Sooryavanshi features Katrina Kaif as the female lead. This film was actually supposed to release on the 24th of March. But it got postponed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Meanwhile, Neena was last seen in the film Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhaan. She has also acted in the recent Amazon Prime web series Panchayat.
