Female filmmaker Rima Das created a sensation in the Indian film industry by her debut film Village Rockstars. Rima Das is the writer, director, editor, cinematographer and producer of this little Assamese gem made in 2017. Village Rockstars is also the first film which was the official Indian entry for Oscars in 2018. After that, Rima made another compelling film called Bulbul Can Sing.
Now, Rima got another gem in her crown as Village Rockstars got included as a lesson in English textbooks of schools in Assam. This lesson got titled Dhanu's Guitar, is now part of the VII standard English textbooks. The chapter will deal with the film's story of a young girl and her dreams of buying a guitar. Rima is considering this feat as one of the big achievements of her career.
Speaking about it, Rima said that her father was a school teacher and mother ran a printing press. She hails from the family which gives much importance to education. She added that out of all her achievements, her parents are most proud of this one. Rima Das has made a film called Sunshine Dreamers which is gearing up for the release very soon.
