The spread of Coronavirus has affected industries around the globe. This hit has also reached Bollywood. Many films have halted their shootings and postponed release dates. As multiplexes and theatres close in many states the box office has also taken a toll for films like Baaghi 3.
Now the makers of Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar have announced that the film's release is getting postponed amid the health crisis. The makers have said that the film is getting delayed as a precautionary measure. Yashraj films in an official statement wrote, "Given the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in the country, we have decided to postpone the release of Dibakar Banerjee’s Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar. The health and safety of everyone is of utmost importance at this time.” Soon after the official statement the lead cast Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra also shared the message on their respective social media accounts.
Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar is the second time Parineeti and Arjun will share the same screen. The two stars were last seen together in Ishaqzaade. Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar is a crime thriller that sees the couple running away from someone and something. Dibakar Banerjee has directed the upcoming film.
Banerjee had earlier spoke about working with Parineeti and Arjun on the film. He said, "(It was) Very surprising because I think they had also made up their minds that this would be a very different experience and came prepared for it and very surprisingly we had none of the juvenility that I generally associate with Bollywood and its trappings. They were quite adults.”
