Part Of Bengaluru Outer Ring Road To Be Named After Puneeth Rajkumar

The 12-kilometer stretch of the Outer Ring Road (ORR) on Bannerghatta Road between Nayandahalli junction and Vega City Mall will be named after the late Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar. Revenue Minister R Ashoka stated the news at a press conference on Monday. He stated that Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai will inaugurate a signboard for the same. The function will be at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Stadium in Padmanabha Nagar at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. Actors and family members of Puneeth Rajkumar will attend the BBMP ceremony. Actors Shivarajkumar, Raghavendra Rajkumar, and Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar will be in attendance.

Puneeth died in October 2021 as a result of a major heart arrest. Last year, Puneeth was posthumously awarded the Karnataka Ratna. The award is the state's highest civilian accolade. The late actor's statue was erected in Bellary earlier this month. The inauguration was in the presence of Puneeth's wife Ashwini. His brother Raghavendra Rajkumar also attended.

Puneeth had a brilliant career is an obvious fact. But aside from this, it is Puneeth's philanthropic endeavors that keep his memories alive in the hearts of his followers. He is well-known for his support of humanitarian causes. He made substantial donations to organizations and foundations. He helped 26 orphanages, 16 old-age institutions, and 19 gaushalas. Puneeth ran Shakti Dhama, a shelter for destitute women and girls. And he supported the education of thousands of female students.

More than 20 lakh people attended Puneeth's funeral at Kanteerava Indoor Stadium, where his remains were kept in state. Puneeth's family donated his eyes. Subsequently, donating eyes became a movement throughout the state. Lakhs of individuals and his followers stepped forward and pledged to do the same.
