Pawan Kalyan signs Ayyappanum Koshiyum Telugu remake; Venky Atluri to direct the movie

Ayyappanum Koshiyum is one of the most successful films in Malayalam this year. Starring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Biju Menon in the lead roles, this movie went on to become a huge blockbuster at the box office. Now, Power Star Pawan Kalyan is planning to remake this movie in Telugu. Surya Devara Naga Vamsi of Sithara Entertainments will bankroll the project. If the latest grapevine is anything to go by, this remake will get helmed by Venky Atluri of Tholi Prema fame.

Venky Atluri's last film was Mr. Majnu. He is currently directing the movie Rang De. Nithiin and Keerthy Suresh are playing the leads in this film. Vamsi is producing this movie as well. Impressed by the directorial capabilities of Venky, Vamsi decided to give his the responsibilities of this remake as well. Apparently, the makers are considering Vijay Sethupathi for another lead role in the movie. An official announcement will be out very soon. Earlier, actors like Ravi Teja, Balakrishna, and Rana Daggubati got considered for the lead roles in this movie. Finally, it looks like Pawan and Sethupathi will sign the dotted lines. Venky will work on this remake after completing the works of Rang De. Thus, it may go on the floors next year.

Currently, Pawan Kalyan is working for the film Vakeel Saab. He is also shooting a film under the direction of Krish. Pawan also signed another movie with Harish Shankar.
