'Pon Manickavel' is an upcoming Tamil film featuring Prabhu Deva in the lead role. Touted to be an action thriller, A. C. Mugil Chellappan of Kandaen fame is helming this project.
Nivetha Pethuraj is playing the female lead in the movie whereas Suresh Chandra Menon, J. Mahendran, Soori, Prabhakar, etc are playing crucial roles. Prabhu Deva played the role of a police officer for the first time in his career. Today, the makers have unveiled the theatrical trailer of the film. The 2 minutes video started with Prabhudeva asking if police should work under department constraints or for the welfare of people and there is a huge difference between the two notions. The trailer hinted that the movie is going to revolve around a murder case. The visuals are catchy and BGM is engaging. The trailer hinted a racy cop thriller. Overall, the trailer has been receiving a decent response from the audience.
Nemichand Jhabak and Hitesh Jhabak under Jhabak Movies is bankrolling this project. D. Imman is composing tunes for this film, scheduled to hit the screens very soon.
Interestingly, the Telugu version of the film has got a title called Krishna Manohar IPS which came after the superhit film Pokiri in which Mahesh plays the same role. The trailer for the Telugu version also will come out soon.
