Naane Varuvaen, the most recent film by director Selvaraghavan starring, is doing well in theatres. It has generated a total of Rs 30 crore at the box office in just four days. The movie, which was released on September 29, competed at the box office with "Ponniyin Selvan" by Mani Ratnam. Audiences are loving the shows now that there are two good movies in theatres.
Fans have been comparing Ponniyin Selvan with Selvaraghavan's "Aayirathil Oruvan". Selvaraghavan allegedly discussed moviegoers' interest in historical and regal dramas in an interview. Additionally, he stated that he is now really intrigued and eager to work on the "Aayirathil Oruvan" sequel. The director also claimed to have stated that there are numerous Chinese and Hollywood films on kings and rulers. But there are now just two Tamil films that are centered on kings.
According to the reports, Selvaraghavan also stated that it is a misconception that only high-budget movies can effectively convey this idea. He went on to clarify that what matters most is the content that is being viewed. Dhanush was cast as the lead in "Aayirathil Oruvan 2," which received its official announcement on January 1st, 2021. The movie will have a protracted plot that centers on the Chola prince's return to Tamil Nadu. The movie's pre-production work will reportedly start soon, and it will probably be released in 2024.
