SS Rajamouli is currently working on his upcoming film RRR. The coronavirus outbreak has put a halt to the film. However, the film will resume shooting after the COVID-19 crisis subsides. In a recent interview with Rediff, the star director spoke about RRR and also hinted at a reunion with actor Prabhas.
Prabhas starred in S S Rajamouli's epic action franchise Baahubali. The franchise had two films - Baahubali and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. Both films were mega-hits at the box office. The films received popular and critical acclaim, both nationally and internationally. Baahubali: The Beginning grossed a whopping Rs 650 crores and the sequel, Baahuali: The Conclusion grossed over Rs 520 crores. In a recent interview with Rediff, the star director was asked if he'd like to work with Prabhas again. To answer the question, S S Rajamouli said, " No. Working for five years together, I think we have seen each other enough. Jokes apart, yes, when we have a subject exciting for both of us, we will definitely come together again." It seems like the Rajamouli-Prabhas duo will reunite to make another blockbuster in the near future.
Meanwhile, Rajamouli is awaiting the release of his film RRR. The film started filming in 2018. The film will hit theatres in 2021. The director seems to be focusing on this project alone. When asked about if the success of Baahubali has created higher expectations for RRR, this is what he had to say. The director stated, "My mantra always had been to forget the previous film's success and start afresh."
