Pramod Shetty received laurels for his performance in his recently released film, Kantara, starring Rishab Shetty. He will be seen next in Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran's upcoming film, Salaar.
In an interview with the Times of India, Pramod said that he received director Prashanth Neel's call earlier this year. He said, "He had seen my performance in Ratnan Prapancha and appreciated it. He also told me that he has a meaty role for me in Salaar. But then, I didn’t hear from him for a while after that and assumed he might have changed his mind. But, in August, he called back and asked me to go to Hyderabad for a photo shoot. As soon as he saw me with the new hairdo and costume, he told me he made the right choice by picking me for the role. Though many had applauded me for my role in Ratnan Prapancha, that effort converting to a bigger project like Salaar made me feel like I am on the right path. Actors can stay motivated only when they are appreciated."
Pramod also shared his experience of shootin with Prabhas and Prithviraj. He added, "They were impressed by my fluency in Telugu. We spoke a lot about films. Prashant has great vision, and he makes sure he achieves it, even if it is a minute expression from an actor who plays a very small role. I learned plenty from the big-canvas, pan-India film. This whole journey feels different and big. As soon as I walked onto the set, I would effortlessly transform into the character I was playing. Working on a pan-India film for the first time has been a huge learning curve. My character required a lot of energy, and I am happy I got this role."
