Puri Jagannath revealed the story behind the name 'Anushka' at Nishandham pre-release event

Star Siren Anushka Shetty marked her debut as a heroine with a 'Super' movie under the direction of Puri Jagannadh. Now, the 'Baahubali' actress completed 15 long successful years in her career and 'Nishabdham' team organized a grand event celebrating the same.

Anushka's debut movie director also attended the event. Talking at that event, Puri said, "I went to Bombay for a heroine in 'Super' movie. E Nivas said that he will send someone. I was waiting in a hotel lobby and I saw her coming towards me. I thought she is looking beautiful. When I asked her name, she said 'Sweety'. I asked her for a photo. She gave me a passport size photo. I smiled and asked about photoshoot pictures. She said she didn't have any. When I asked about acting, she said she don't know about it but she can try. My wife also saw her and said that we should cast her. I took her to Hyderabad. Nagarjuna also liked her and suggested me to cast without audition. With makeup, we organized a photoshoot" said, Puri.

"Nagarjuna and I decided to pick a name for her. Then a girl came for singing 'Mila Mila' song. Her name is Anushka. I liked it and asked Nagarjuna the same. He said it is unique and we fixed that name. She gave us an exercise of calling her with that name so that she can get used to it. So, we also started calling her Anushka on sets" added Puri.
