Rajamouli clarifies about not casting Mahesh In #RRR
Rajamouli met with Tollywood media on Thursday and has revealed the gist and highlights of his next project #RRR which is said to be a historical fiction film. He also shared the details of the cast and some interesting facts about the movie and answered the questions posed by media persons.
The story revolves around two legendary freedom fighters, Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem portrayed by Ram Charan and Jr NTR respectively. Set in the 1920s pre-independent India, this is entirely a fictional story. The biggest announcement of the day was that Bollywood actors Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn have been roped in for prominent roles
One of the media persons has posed an interesting question about why Mahesh Babu was not cast for the role of Alluri Seetharama Raju. The question was triggered as Mahesh’s father Superstar Krishna has played the character of Alluri Seetharama Raju three decade ago and his role stood as a milestone. There is no offense that fans expect Mahesh to reprise his father's role in Rajamouli's direction.
In reply to the question, Rajamouli said: “Even I came through the same though and asked his fans in one of the events if they wanted to see Mahesh as Alluri Seetharamaraju or James Bond in my direction. I found that the latter got a more favorable response than seeing him in a periodic role. After which I thought of opting another star who would do maximum justice to the character.”
Lately, gossips took rounds that Mahesh is teaming up with Rajamouli for a film which will be bankrolled by senior filmmaker KL Narayana. The film circles speculated that this would take place after Baahubali. But both the stars took up different projects.
