On January 10, 2019, Rajinikanth’s Petta hit the theatres amid much expectations and wowed everyone. The film was so special to the actor’s fans for many reasons. It brought the vintage Rajinikanth back on screen after several years and Petta also marked Rajinikanth’s first collaboration with director Karthick Subbaraj. On January 10, Petta has completed two years of release. On the special occasion, director Karthik Subbaraj took to social media to pen a special note to his fans.
He wrote, “2 years ago this day gave the magical moments of Lifetime to all of us in the team...Thanks to the audience for all the love to #Petta #2YearsOfPetta @sunpictures @DOP_Tirru @anirudhofficial @sureshsrajan @vivekharshan @kunal_rajan @tuneyjohn @ParruuG (sic)." Along with his post, Karthick Subbaraj shared a painting of Rajinikanth in his look from the film. Apart from Rajinikanth, the film’s ensemble cast includes Bollywood star Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Vijay Sethupathi, Sasikumar, Simran and Trisha. The film had music composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Karthik Subbaraj is now waiting for the release of his upcoming film Jagame Thandhiram which has Dhanush playing the lead role. Meanwhile, he is working on the story of his upcoming film with Chiyaan Vikram and his son Dhruv.
