If you take the history books of the Telugu film industry, Rangasthalam will have a special place. It is often considered a modern classic of Tollywood. Directed by creative genius Sukumar, this film featured Ram Charan and Samantha Akkineni in the lead roles. Today, Rangasthalam celebrates two years of its release. On this occasion, let us have a look back into the film.
Rangasthalam had hit the screens on March 30th, 2018. The story of the film deals with the story of a hearing-impaired person called Chitti Babu and the happenings in his village Rangasthalam. Rarely we see Telugu heroes taking a backseat for the film's story. Ram Charan did that for this film. There is no hero-worshipping in the film. Still, it became an industry hit of Tollywood. Another actor who got heavily benefitted with the film is Aadhi Pinishetty. His role as Charan's elder brother is surely a memorable one. Prakash Raj and Jagapathi Babu have also shined in their respective roles.
Rangasthalam's story is set in the 80s era. Thus, the team had erected a village set for the film. Even the music composed by Devi Sri Prasad was also a big hit. Songs like Yentha Sakkagunnave, Rangamma Mangamma, and Jigelu Rani still remain in the playlists of the audiences. This is one of the rare films whose entire album was a chartbuster. Rangasthalam collected more than Rs. 120 crores and became the biggest grosser in the careers of Ram Charan and Sukumar. We have to see if this duo teams up for one more film in the future.
