But all those tweets turn netizens' eyes towards Varma. Last night, he tweeted that he tested positive for the virus. Soon, he said that his doctor fooled him on April's fools day. The netizens lashed out at Varma for making fun of a serious situation like this.
At first, Varma tweeted, "My doctor just told me that I tested positive with Corona." Within a few minutes, he stated, "Sorry to disappoint, but now he tells me it’s an April Fool joke. it’s his fault and not mine."
This received a severe backlash from the netizens. They asked him not to make fun of a situation like this. Even the government has asked people not to make any April Fool jokes on the ongoing pandemic. After a heavy lash out, Varma apologized by writing, "Anyway I am just trying to make light of a grim situation but the joke is on me and if I didn't offend anyone I sincerely apologize to them."
