Sathuranga Vettai is a super hit film in Tamil. It marked the debut of director H. Vinoth. The talented filmmaker later went on to make super hit films like Theeram and Nerkonda Parvaai. Sathuranga Vettai was a good success at the box office. A sequel was also made for the film, called Sathuranga Vettai 2. Due to some unknown reasons, this film didn't hit the screens until now. But, the makers have sold the remake rights of it. Director Ramesh Varma bought the Telugu remake rights of this film. He is now making it with Ravi Teja.
Ramesh Varma has announced his new film with Ravi Teja a couple of months back. There were reports stating that it is a remake of a Tamil film but there was no clarity on which Tamil film it is. Now, it is finally revealed that Ramesh Varma is remaking Sathuranga Vettai 2. This unreleased Tamil film features Aravind Swamy and Trisha in the lead roles. NV Nirmal Kumar has directed the film. The leading lady of the Telugu version is yet to get finalized. The shoot of this film will begin in the latter half of this year.
Ramesh Varma scored a super hit with his last film Rakshasudu. This Bellamkonda Sreenivas starrer film was also a remake of the Tamil film called Ratsasan. Both Ravi Teja and Ramesh Varma have earlier worked together for the film Veera.
Currently, Ravi Teja is awaiting the release of his next film Krack. Directed by Gopichand Malineni, this film features Shruti Haasan as the female lead.
