Ranveer Singh's film Cirkus, directed by Rohit Shetty, struggled over the Christmas break and only managed to make an 8 crore net on Sunday. Thereby bringing its first weekend total to 20.75 crore net. The comedy's opening weekend numbers are almost identical to Simmba (2018)'s opening day receipts.
Varun Sharma, Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, Johnny Lever, and other actors all appear in the ensemble comedy. The film earned 6.5 crores on Friday and 6.25 crores on Saturday. There was a little increase from Saturday to Sunday. But Cirkus was unable to fully take advantage of the Christmas holiday weekend.
The Hollywood blockbuster Avatar: The Way Of Water, presented competition for the Hindi movie. Avatar is playing in its second weekend. James Cameron's sci-fi sequel is available in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. Even though Avatar is in its second weekend, it outperformed Cirkus in all Hindi circuits.
Despite being the final significant Hindi release of 2022, Rohit Shetty's movie faces a challenging week. It also doesn't have any competition from other Hindi movies until the second week of January. But as it develops popularity in India and other countries, Avatar The Way Of Water will continue to compete with it.
Sanjay Mishra, Siddhartha Jadhav, and Mukesh Tiwari play important roles in the film. Vrajesh Hirjee, Ashwini Kalsekar, Murali Sharma, and Tiku Talsania are among the ensemble cast members of Cirkus. Deepika Padukone briefly appears in the song Current Laga Re.
