Karthi's film Kaithi was a super hit in both Tamil and Telugu languages. In spite of having no heroine and no songs, the film did extremely well at the box office and opened gates for the new age of filmmaking. Director Lokesh Kanagaraj managed to keep the audience hooked to their seats throughout the film. It is now being remade in Hindi as well and we hear that Ajay Devgn will be playing the lead role in it.
Already, the Tamil makers have sold the Hindi remake rights for a solid price. It is being rumored that Lokesh himself will direct the Hindi version as well, but there is no official confirmation on it though. Currently, Lokesh is busy with the filming of his upcoming movie Master which features Vijay as the lead. Master will hit the screens on April 9.
On the flip side, we hear that the shooting of Kaithi Hindi remake will begin in the second half of this year. Right now, Ajay Devgn is busy with multiple projects like Bhuj: The Pride of India and Maidaan. He is also essaying a key role in SS Rajamouli's RRR. Meanwhile, Ajay's market has widely expanded with his recent hit Tanhaji. Thus, Kaithi will get much boost in Hindi with the inclusion of this Singham hero.
