After Djibouti, S J Sinu is sharing the highlights of the new movie starring Amit Chakkalakal. The director says that the movie titled 'Theru' is a combination of comedy and thriller. Sinu opened his mind in an interview with ETimes.
Sinu says that he has experience in making police stories. He added that he does not have much experience in making films for family audiences. Sinu added that the film is trying to bring together comedy and action for police stories.
“I have always been interested in police investigations and thrillers, but with my background as the director of family TV sitcom Uppum Mulakum, I have also been keen to combine the two and am doing that through this film,” says the director.
The tagline of the movie is 'The One in the Corner'. According to the director, the tag line is a reference to the rook on a chessboard. “It is a powerful piece that can easily take down even the king. The film shows the positive and negative sides of a police case, and touches on the personal lives of the investigators;” he added.
The film stars Amit Chakkalakal, Baburaj and Kalabhavan Shajon Vijayaraghavan in the lead roles. The poster for the film had already been released. Dinil P.K. writes the script of the film.
Sinu's first film Djibouti has not been released yet. The director says that the film is a theatrical experience and the release is delayed because the theatres are not open.
