Director Krish Jagarlamudi’s NTR Kathanayakudu starring Balakrishna, Vidya Balan, Sumanth, and Rana Daggubati hit the theatres on January 9 and received positive reviews from critics.
However, the film couldn’t lure in the audience to the theatres. As per the Trade reports the distributors are finding it difficult to recover their money with the box office collection.
It is said that NTR Kathanayakudu was sold for Rs 70 crore, which is a staggering amount for a Balakrishna film. Among the several distributors, Sai Korrapati is the most affected according to sources.
It is said that he had bought the rights for a huge amount in the following areas: Vishakapattinam, Ceded, Krishna and Karnataka. He bid the highest amount among other distributors.
It is said that Sai and other distributors are pinning their hopes on NTR Mahanayakudu to recover the losses.
