Samantha Akkineni tops the list of Times of India's Most Desirable Women 2019 in Telugu

The annual list of Times of India Most Desirable Women in Telugu is out now. It is Samantha Akkineni who topped the list by dethroning Aditi Rao Hydari who claimed the top spot last year. By scoring two blockbusters in 2019, Samantha proved to be a desirable star even after getting married. The actress said that she is pretty surprised as a married woman doesn't get the desirability tag very often. The top ten women in the list are (in ascending order), Samantha Akkineni, Sanjana Vj, PV Sindhu, Aditi Rao Hydari, Pooja Hegde, Raja Kumari, Rakul Preet Singh, Kajal Aggarwal, Rashmika Mandanna and Nikita Tanwani.

Reacting to her win, Samantha told Times Of India, "Wow! Good for Hyderabad because we are a married woman and to be most desirable is a big step forward. It symbolizes a huge change. So, I was really pleasantly surprised that we have changed so much and the marital status of a lady is no longer does not define her desirability." "The effort as an actress is you are always surrounded by people. You don't just wake up like this. You have a team of ten people constantly around you to decide what to wear, what makeup, what's the new style, what's the new look. So, you know it's undue pressure on young girls to look like their favorite star because the stars themselves are very insecure. Stars themselves need that much support to look the way they look. So, I think that desirability according to me gets measured only by the person you think you know than what they look like," she added. On the career front, Samantha was last seen in the film Jaanu.
