A budding Telugu film director, Nag Ashwin is celebrating his birthday today. He has written and directed two Telugu feature films, ‘ Yevvade Subramanyam’ and ‘ Mahanati’ He received much more applause for the latter, yet his first film also was a great success as well. Mahanati will remain a classic for a long time to come, and rightfully so. The director worked with
Samantha Akkineni for this film. The actress went on to Instagram to send him wishes and a lot of love and appreciation. She just got back on Instagram after a three-week break.
Samantha cast in the role of the journalist in Mahanati, she tied the film together so gracefully. She wrote a long message for him on her Instagram story, and shared an interesting detail about Ashwin, with us. He apparently tried to persuade her to invest in an environment-friendly car, while the whole crew was busy receiving compliments for the film. Goes to show what a humble person Ashwin is after all.
She also went on to attach a cute photograph from behind the scenes. The rest of the team also took to Twitter to wish their director on his special day. One of the tweets read, "From taking us on a spectacular journey to the Himalayas to making us fall in love with Telugu cinema and Savitri once again, you are the powerhouse director. The movie came out in collaboration with Vyjayanthi Movies and Swapna Cinema. The earlier owned by his in-laws and later by his wife, Priyanka Dutt. He sure did make his family proud by winning the ‘Best Telugu feature film - 66th National Film Awards’ and ‘Best Director Telugu - Filmfare Awards South’.Keerthi Suresh featured as the female lead, playing the role of actress Savitri and Dulquer Salmaan debuted in Tollywood as Gemini Ganesan.
On the professional end, he is presently producing the film ‘Jathi Ratnalu’, Anudeep K V directorial. The film features Priyadarshi, Rahul Ramakrishna, and Naveen Polishetty. His upcoming project as director is set out to feature
Prabhas as the male, which will be the actor’s 21st film.
