A few weeks ago, Samantha the star of The Family Man 2 announced on social media that she has myositis, an auto-immune disease. Her recovery is on track now and she is set to resume shooting for Vijay Deverakonda's Kushi very soon.
Samantha recently took a break from work to receive treatment in the USA and she is back in India now. A source revealed that Samantha is scheduled to begin the shooting of Kushi shortly.
"Samantha is probably going to join the filming when Kushi's new schedule starts on December 14. The actress will, however, confirm her availability nearer to the event" says the source close to the development. The Yashoda actress will start preparing for her role in Varun Dhawan's 1990s-set film Citadel soon.
Varun Dhawan and Samantha will work together for the first time on Citadel. After Family Man 2, this is Samantha Ruth Prabhu's second collaboration with Raj and DK. Returning to Kushi, Mythri Movie Makers and Shiva Nirvana are responsible for its direction and production. Hesham Abdul Wahab wrote the background music and score.
In an interview, Vijay Deverakonda discussed why Kushi, which would only be released in Tamil and Telugu, is not a pan-Indian film. "It's related to the script. Kushi, the first half is entirely happening and a lot of it comes from me not knowing Hindi and being in Kashmir and stuff so it doesn't work if I put it here. Because if I release it in Hindi, I need to be a Hindi guy. So that whole space of the first half doesn't work so it's a technical reason. For that technical reason, we decided to keep it only to South states. It will work in any language that's not Hindi," he shared.
