OTT giant Netflix has been planning to bankroll a series based on the epic action drama, the Baahubali duology. They are spending big bucks on the web series and are intending to rope in some of the biggest stars in Indian cinema for the same.
Coming to the topic, rumors are rife that Netflix approached Samantha Akkineni recently, enquiring if she would be willing to play the famous Rajamatha Sivagami character in the Baahubali spin-off series.
However, Samantha is said to have politely turned down the offer. The senior actress opined the character doesn’t suit her and opted not to be a part of the project.
Netflix offered a hefty remuneration to Samantha but she made up her mind already and declined the proposal. The OTT giant is now in search of other alternatives for the role. The final call will be taken very soon.
Samantha made a sparkling entry into digital space with The Family Man 2 and she plans to sign only content-driven web films and series’ henceforth. More details about Samantha’s forthcoming web entertainment commitments will be unveiled in the due course.
