In recent years, actor Sarathkumar has drastically reduced the number of films that he has signed. He is now on the lookout for quality roles where he is able to add something to the story and not be a supporting character. The actor is presently shooting for his upcoming film Ponniyin Selvan, directed by Mani Ratnam.
Recently, the actor-politician gave an interview to a leading Tamil family where he spoke about his career at length. He confessed that he is proud and happy seeing his daughter Varalaxmi faring extremely well in Kollywood on her own. He also added that he regrets not helping her daughter in time.
Elaborating more about it, he said, "But she had her tough times during the release issues of her debut film 'Poda Podi'. As a dad, I should have been there and helped her but I didn't."
In the interview, he also disclosed that he is venturing into the OTT platform by doing a web-series. He said, "I'm also acting in a detective web series like Sherlock Holmes which is being made in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi."
