Sathyaraj And Rocky Star Vasanth Ravi To Do A Suspense Thriller

Director Guhan Senniappan received a lot of praise for his last release, Vella Raja. It has been four years since Vella Raja hit the theatres. Now, the filmmaker is all set to helm his upcoming film, which has been titled Weapon. The suspense thriller will feature Sathyaraj and Vasanth Ravi in lead roles. The team unveiled the title look today. According to reports, the shooting of Weapon will commence next month. The filmmaker is yet to finalize a female lead. Composer Ghibran, cinematographer Prabhu Rhagav, editor Nash, and art director Subendar form the technical crew.

In an interview with The Times of India, Guhan said, "When I wrote the script, I could only visualize Sathyaraj sir and Vasanth Ravi in those characters. It’s a suspense action thriller, and though it sounds clichéd, the two actors will appear in looks and roles they haven’t done before. In most of his recent films, Sathyaraj sir is seen portraying father characters. But in this, he will play this very aggressive person, someone who can wreak havoc if he wants to. I have been a fan of Sathyaraj sir’s acting and his performance in Amaidhi Padai 91994), I feel, is one of his best. It’s one of the reasons why I felt he was best suited for this character in my film. As for Vasanth Ravi, he will be seen in an equally powerful role, and unlike in his earlier films, he will not have a bearded look!”
