Selvaraghavan Learns An Important Lesson From Aayirathil Oruvan Box Office Performance

Director Selvaraghavan's Aayirathil Oruvan is an ambitious film in his career. Back in 2010 when computer graphics and VFX were not affordable for Tamil films, Selvaraghavan took up the challenge and achieved it as well. However, when the film was released in theatres in 2010, it received negative to mixed reviews from the critics and audience alike. However, over the years, Aayirathil Oruvan has received a cult status. For the producers, Aayirathil Oruvan was a non-profitable venture and it is safe to say that the film is a failure at the box office performance. Now, Selvaraghavan took to Twitter to share a tweet about the film.

The actual budget of #aayirathiloruvan was 18 crores. But we decided to announce it as a 32 crore film to hype it as a mega budget film. What stupidity! Even though the film managed to collect the actual budget it was regarded as average! Learnt not to lie whatever the odds are!
