Shah Rukh Khan remembers Kishori Ballal, says she will be missed

Kannada actress Kishori Ballal passed away on Tuesday. The actress has starred in over 75 films during her film career and seen alongside Shah Rukh Khan in the critically successful Swades. The actress was 82 years old and died due to old age in a private hospital in Bengaluru.

 
The actress was born in Dakshina Kannada district and has done films in multiple languages, including Hindi, Kannada, and others. The actress made her debut in 1960 with the Kannada film Ivalentha Hendathi.
 
In Bollywood, Kishori Ballal is best known for her role as Kaveri Amma in the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Swades. Swades movie directed by Ashutosh Gowariker and was a big critical success. Shah Rukh Khan himself took to Twitter to express grief over Ballal's death. Shah Rukh Khan wrote, "May her soul rest in peace. Kishori ‘Amma’ will be sorely missed. Especially how she used to reprimand me for smoking. May Allah look after her."
 
The iconic director Ashutosh Gowariker also tweeted out about the actress's death writing, "Heartbroken! Terribly sad about the passing away of #KishoriBallal ji. Kishori ji... you will be remembered for your generously kind, warm and affable persona! And your unforgettable performance as #Kaveriamma in #Swades !! You will surely be missed," the director tweeted."
 
Kishori Ballal has also appeared in Rani Mukerji's Aiyyaa and Deepika Padukone's Lafangey Parindey.
 
From the Kannada film industry, Puneeth Rajkumar tweeted, "Veteran artist Kishori Ballal amma is no more, RIP."
