Shah Rukh Khan urges fans to donate for stray, abandoned animals during lockdown

In times of need amid the Coronavirus pandemic, some of Bollywood's biggest stars have stepped up. Shah Rukh Khan recently donated over 25000 PPE kits to healthcare workers in desperate need of the protective equipment. Now King Khan has taken to his Twitter handle to urge his fans towards a similarly positive goal.

The zero actors took to Twitter to urge his fans and followers to take care of animals amid Coronavirus. He said, "As the world is coping with the outbreak of COVID-19, We must not forget those without a voice. Let's make sure stray and abandoned animals are treated with care and compassion."

Recently Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja donated from their private business ends towards a similar cause. Sonam said that the contribution will ensure that stray animals across the country are given food even as the country goes into lockdown. Shraddha Kapoor also shared a strong message through her social media about animals amid the health crisis. She wrote, "So, you're tired of isolation, "As COVID-19 has forced the world to quarantine, we've all felt the effects of isolation ' depression, anxiety, loneliness. Animals experience these same emotions. As humans, we tend to lack empathy for others until we've experienced their situation ourselves. But now that we've felt the suffering of captivity, let's extend empathy toward the other living beings that we share this planet with.

Millions of animals have been isolated for their entire lives. In isolation, these animals exhibit concerning behaviors including self-harm. Mental health is not a uniquely human trait. This is not normal."
