Upon its release, the film received a mixed response from the critics. However, the audiences loved the movie, especially the performance of Shah Rukh. Thus, the film became super successful at the box office.
The music of the movie got composed by Anu Malik. All the tracks have become successful and made Josh one of the highest-selling albums of the year.
