Shahid Kapoorhas found his mojo back by scoring a blockbuster with his last film Kabir Singh. This Hindi remake of Arjun Reddy has collected more than Rs. 275 crores at the box office and became the biggest hit in Shahid's career. This widened his market value as well. Now, we hear that Shahid has okayed another interesting film.
According to the B-Town grapevine, Shahid will act in a patriotic drama that will get bankrolled by Karan Johar. This will be a high octane action entertainer and Shahid will play the role of a patriot in it. Currently, the script is in pre-production stages and an official confirmation will be out once the actor signs the dotted lines. Both Shahid and Karan's last venture together was the 2015 film Shandaar. That was a flop at the box-office.
Currently, Shahid is working on his next film Jersey, which is the official remake of Telugu film of the same name. Gautham Tinnanuri, who has directed the Telugu version, is also helming this film. Mrunal Thakur, who has acted in films like Love Sonia, Super 30 and Ghost Stories, is playing the female lead in it. Dil Raju, Allu Aravind, Naga Vamsi, and Aman Gill are producing it.
