After a long absence, former superstar Shankar returns in a pivotal role. Shankar is all set to make a grand comeback as a DIG character in the film "Ormakalil”. A suspenseful, sentimental thriller film, "Ormakalil," has been announced for release. The film will hit theatres on September 23.
The film is directed by M. Vishwapathap. The screenplay is also by Vishwa Prathap. Nitin K. Raj is handling the cinematography of the film. The film also stars Shaju Sridhar, Nasser Latif, Deepa Kartha, Poojita Menon, Vijayakumari, Ajay, Aryan Kathuria, Roshan Abdul, Master Daivik, Satish Triprap, Sriram Sharma, Suresh Kumar, and P Suresh Krishna.

Shankar's first films, Manjil Virinja Pookkal in Malayalam and Oru Thalai Ragam in Tamil, both had successful theatrical runs of 365 and 250 days, respectively. He is the only Indian movie star to simultaneously release debut blockbuster smashes in two separate languages.
