Shekar Kammula silent on Saranga Dariya controversy

Sai Pallavi's Saranaga Dariya song has become a chartbuster within 48 hours post its release. It is a huge hit on social media as well. This song is from Love Story, a Shekar Kammula directorial which has Naga Chaitanya in the lead role.

The folk song has become a controversy now. Komali, a fold singer, from Warangal, apparently, was approached by Shekar Kammula who had promised her that he will make her sing this song in the film. But as she was sick, Komali is said to have asked the director for some time to record the song.

“The director seemed to be in a hurry and he then told me that he will make sure the right credits will be given and he even promised that he will make me sing this song at the audio release event,” said Komali to an agent.

She even said, from rural Telangana was initially collected by me and I even voiced it in a TV reality show. I have been trying to contact Sekhar Kammula and team from ever since the song is out. I even reached out to writer Suddala Ashoka Teja but none of them are responding to me. It is unfortunate that the rural folk artists are going through such discrimination in Tollywood. The handwork shouldn’t be miscredited,” she said while talking to TOI.
