Shivarajkumar Rustum and Upendra's I Love You may clash at the box office

Even before the famed August rush that will see 3 big stars of Kannada industry lock horns with each other, it looks like we might get a sneak peek in June in the form of Shivarajkumar's Rustum and Upendra's I Love You. The two films of these two best friends are scheduled for a June 14 release. Director R Chandru is producing I Love You under Sri Siddeshwara Enterprises while Jayanna Combines, are producing Rustum.

Rustum to release in 500 theatres across India
Well-known stunt choreographer Ravi Varma will make his directorial debut with Rustum, an action-family drama featuring Shivarajkumar in the role of a cop. The film will see actors from different industries coming together. Vivek Oberoi plays a pivotal role while director Mahendran, actor Harish Uthaman, and actor-director Shivamani also are a part of this ensemble cast that comprises three heroines, including Shraddha Srinath, Mayuri, and Rachita Ram.
Rustum’s music is by Anoop Seelin and the first song from the film - You are my police baby - was released recently. Producer Jayanna, who is also distributing the film, is planning to release it in at least 500 theatres in Karnataka and across India. A full list of the theatres is expected to be announced closer to the film's release.
R Chandru eyes 400 theatres in Karnataka and 600 in Andhra Pradesh
I Love You is a film that Upendra fans have been waiting to watch as the film will mark the return of the Real Star to the silver screen after a two-year hiatus. The director of the film, Chandru is confident that the Kannada-Telugu bilingual will break all records in terms of the number of screens the film will release in. “We plan to release it in at least 400 theatres in Karnataka and over 600 theatres in Andhra Pradesh,” he says.
With Rachita Ram plays the female lead and Sonu Gowda plays a prominent role, I Love You will feature Upendra in three shades. Based on a college love story, the film focuses on the 'philosophy of love.' The songs by doctor-turned-music director Kiran Thotambyle are already topping the charts.
