Pradeep Guha, who had been diagnosed with stage four liver cancer, died on Saturday in a Mumbai hospital. Subash Ghai, Manoj Bajpayee, and other Bollywood stars expressed their sorrow over his death. Guha, who produced the film Fiza died in the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital.
His wife Papia Guha and son Sanket Guha shared the news in a statement released to the media. The statement reads; “We regret to announce the sad demise of our dear Mr Pradeep Guha. In these COVID times, the family has requested to be allowed to grieve in private and will share a date for a prayer meeting in a few days. No condolence visit at home due to COVID restrictions. Please keep him in your prayers.”
Meanwhile, many celebrities mourned Guha’s death. Manoj Bajpayee shared his condolences through Twitter. “Deeply shocked and saddened to hear about my friend @guhapradeep’s passing away !! May you rest in peace Pradeep;” Bajpayee wrote on Twitter.
Filmmaker Shubash Ghai tweeted, "Good bye my friend #Pradeep Guha I will always be indebted for your genuine love n support to I needed n we all @whistling_woods international 4 your enriched guidance as a director on board since its birth. U were the makers of many in our industry RIP MY FRIEND”.
Guha was the President of The Times Of India group, where he had served for nearly three decades. Later in 2005, he became the CEO of Zee Telefilm. Pradeep most recently held the post of MD at 9X Media.
