Siddharth Anand Opens Up About The Success Of Pathaan

Pathaan, directed by Siddharth Anand, is performing extremely well at the box office. It has received various praises from the film industry and audiences in general. Pathaan is on its way to become the highest-grossing Hindi picture. And it remains to be seen whether it can dethrone Baahubali 2's Hindi version. In an interview, Siddharth Anand discussed his current release. He also discussed the future of the Spy Universe that he has developed, and his future projects.

Many questions about Pathaan and its actors were answered by Siddharth Anand. One lingering mystery is how and when Shah Rukh Khan got on board the project. Siddharth said that Shah Rukh Khan has an action image. While he has done romantic films, it never feels like he hasn't done an action feature. He went on to reveal that he had always wanted to shoot an action picture with Shah Rukh. He also said he had settled on the title Pathaan. It was not a planned decision to make an action film; rather, everything fell into place, from the plot to the timeframe.

Siddharth claimed that he and Aditya Chopra considered Pathaan. They approached Shah Rukh Khan before the release of War, which was scheduled for July 2019. They approached SRK because they knew he was seeking for a project after Zero. They took a chance because they already had a broad story in place. And all they needed was the actor's interest to shape the story to fit his role.

Siddharth spoke about how Shah Rukh was approached "Adi went to him and met him since they are very close friends. He just sussed it out to know what his headspace is; not to offer him the film but just to chat with him. The energy he gave to Adi was that he is open to it. Adi told him the idea and he instantly said a yes and that he's on." Siddharth stated that he was out with his buddies at the time. And when he was notified about Shah Rukh joining the cast, he fumbled and was completely taken aback. The first thing he did was ask his buddies to visualise Shah Rukh Khan in his film.

Meanwhile, Pathaan is doing extremely well at the box office. And the film is expected to be the top choice for moviegoers as it enters its second box office week. The film aims for an India nett of Rs. 500 crores and a worldwide gross of Rs. 1000 crores.
