Popular Tamil actor Silambarasan and director Venkat Prabhu were planning to team up on a film called Maanadu for a long time. This project got announced once and also got shelved. After undergoing many postponements and controversies, it is back on the track again. All the issues got sorted out and Venkat Prabhu has officially announced that he is teaming up with Simbu for Maanadu.
On the occasion of Simbu's birthday last week, Venkat Prabhu has announced that the actor will be playing a role called Abdul Khaaliq in the movie. Touted to be a political drama, the shoot of Maanadu will go on floors on the 19th of this month.
Producer Suresh Kamatchi has announced that the film's launch event will be a grand affair in which the main cast and crew will take part. We also heard that the regular shoot will start from the same day itself.
Kalyani Priyadarshan is playing the female lead in Maanadu. Director turned actor Sj Suryah is playing an important role in the movie. Daniel Annie Pope, Y. Gee Mahendra, Manoj Bharathi Raja, and Premgi Amaren are playing the other important roles in this film. Maanadu will hit the screens towards the end of this year.
