Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja have now pledged to donate all the earnings of their clothing brand Bhaane's E-Shop towards animal relief. The contribution will help to feed stray animals that have been left without any food, as people have vacated the streets during the ongoing Coronavirus lockdown.
Anand Ahuja is the CEO and founder of the urban clothing brand, Bhaane. Taking to her Instagram, Sonam posted an update about the business. She wrote, "For years, Bhaane HQ has shared space with stray animals that are around our office space. Due to the lockdown, many of these urban animals like dogs, cats and cows, who were depending on local street businesses and passers-by are now starving of hunger. Team @bhaane has pledged to donate 100% of the revenue from our e-shop to providing food for our street companions."
In addition to this, Sonam Kapoor has also urged people to support the starving powerloom workers in Bhiwandi. She took to her Instagram once more to share her appeal. She wrote, "6 lakh power loom workers in Bhiwandi have been left with no income and no food during the COVID19 lockdown. The situation is so desperate that it resembles a famine."
Many other stars have also donated in large amounts to help fight against Coronavirus. Salman Khan, for instance, has pledged support to 25000 cine workers who are left without a job as they work on a daily wage basis. Akshay Kumar, on the other hand, has contributed Rs. 25 crores to the PM's CARES fund. Shah Rukh Khan has also gone the extra mile to help the government in its fight against the novel COVID-19 virus.
