Sooryavanshi actor Akshay Kumar says he only believes in being Indian & doesn't support any religion

Akshay Kumar will feature in the upcoming Rohit Shetty's cop drama film Sooryavanshi. The previous cop dramas of Rohit had Ajay Devgan and Ranveer Singh in the lead roles. Even though Sooryavanshi features Akshay as the main character, the film will see a union of all three as they will solve the case together. Opening up about his upcoming film, Akshay opens up about his beliefs and said that he doesn't believe in any religion. He only believes in being an Indian. "I don’t believe in any religion. I only believe in being Indian and that is what the film also shows. The idea of being an Indian and not about being a Parsi or a Hindu or a Muslim, we haven’t looked at it on the basis of the religion,” Akshay told PTI.

Akshay added that his film Sooryavanshi coincidentally revolves around the same subject. He said that it was deliberate but it happened on its own. "It is a coincidence, we haven’t made it deliberately (now). But, yes, it is very much a relevant film today.”

Talking about making such relevant films in the industry, Akshay added, “We make films which have negative and positive roles, I am just playing a character. In every film there will be both good and bad characters, the audience is smart enough to understand what to take back from the film - the good or the bad.”

Apart from Akshay, Sooryavanshi also features Katrina Kaif in the lead role. Katrina is playing Akshay's better half in the film.
