The awkward teenager Miles Morales is coming back soon to the theatres as Spider-Man in his next film, all set for release in Spring 2022.
To everyone's shock, Sony suddenly revealed the release dates for their next animated Spider-Verse film while also pushing back on Vivo, an animated musical featuring songs from Lin-Manuel Miranda. It will now open April 16, 2021, back from its previous date of Nov. 6, 2020.
The sequel to the Spider-Man film is highly anticipated as the first film garnered a huge fan following and praised by critics alike for its engaging story and fantastic animation. The original film follows the story of Miles Morales, who takes up the mantle of Spider-Man after the death of Peter Parker. Joining hands with Spider-Men from other dimensions, Miles stops KingPin from executing his master plan.
In other news related to Spider-Man and Sony, the production company is well on its way to begin making the next Venom film as well as another Spider-Man spinoff in Morbius. Sony is also rumored to be working on a new animated project featuring a female Spider-woman.
