Bollywood Diva Deepika Padukone kickstarted 2020 by releasing her film Chhappak. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, this film received critical acclaim and was an average performer at the box office. Deepika will be next seen in her husband Ranveer Singh's upcoming film 83. She played an extended cameo in this film as Ranveer's wife. Deepika said that it was a refreshing change for Ranveer and her to act in this film.
83 is the film that talks about the famous 1983 World Cup win of the Indian Cricket Team. Ranveer played the role of Kapil Dev in this movie. Deepika essayed the role of Kapil Dev's wife Romi Dev. The Piku actress also shared her first look from the film recently.
Speaking about her experience of working in this film, Deepika stated that it was a good and refreshing change because of the films she has done before with Ranveer. It was set in different eras, characters, dialogues, and costumes. She said that it was a good experience to work with him in this capacity. Both of them had to remind themselves that they have worked together before as the characters in this film are completely different from the ones they played in the past. Deepika concluded by saying that she would like to act in Ranveer in more contemporary films in the future.
Directed by Kabir Khan, 83 will have a worldwide release on April 10.
