The coronavirus pandemic is hitting the world very hard. The economy is getting crumbled. Many people are out of work right now and got confined to their homes. But it is the best thing to fight the virus at this point in time. The Government of India is doing its best to handle the issue. Celebrities and Industrialists across the country are donating funds to help the government in fighting the disease. Popular director Sukumar has donated Rs. 10 lakhs to the governments of Telugu states. Meanwhile, he also donated Rs.5 lakhs to his hometown Mattaparru. The director also made sure that every ration cardholder of his village gets a donation of Rs.1000.
Mattaparru is a village located in Malikipuram Mandal of East Godavari district. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, many daily wage workers have lost their income source. Sukumar realized the fact that there will be many daily wage workers in villages. Thus, he decided to help those people in his village. Anyone can help people when they are in a good position. But helping people in tough times can make the cause a greater one. Sukumar has exactly done the same.
On the career front, Sukumar's last directorial film was the 2018 village drama Rangasthalam. Starring Ram Charan and Samantha Akkineni in the lead roles, it was a blockbuster at the box office.
