Tamil Cinema's First Time Loop Film Jango Gets Ready For Release

Tamil cinema is now in an exciting phase as young directors are keen on attempting new genres and conveying difficult concepts through simple stories. Tamil film Jango is the latest entrant to the list as it is a time loop-based film. Directed by Mano Karthikeyan, the film is produced by CV Kumar under the banner of Thirukumaran Entertainment in association with Zen Studios. Mano Karthikeyan, who is a native of Theni, worked as an assistant to director Arivazhagan and a co-director in Mundasupatti Ram Kumar. He was drawn to films because of Bharathiraja's films.

Speaking about Jango, the film is about the events that take place in a single day. In a statement, he said, "The events of the particular day will keep repeating and they will be shown with a different screenplay. We have time travel-based movies in Kollywood, but Jango will be first of its kind time loop-based science-fiction flick." Recently, a similar time-loop web series Kudi Yedamaithe by director Pawan Kumar and Amala Paul was released on the Aha platform. Jango features debutant Satheesh Kumar and actress Mrinalini Ravi in lead roles. The supporting cast also includes Anitha Sampath, Hareesh Peradi, Velu Prabhakaran, Karunakaran, Ramesh Tilak, and Daniel Anne Pope. The technical crew comprises cinematographer Karthik K Thillai, editor San Lokesh, and composer Ghibran.
