Kangana Ranaut is currently busy with the shooting of her upcoming big-budget flick, Thalaivi. Directed by Vijay, the film is based on the life of a former chief minister of Tamil Nadu J Jayalalithaa. In an earlier interview, Kangana hinted that the film will release in two parts.
As a surprise announcement, the makers released the first look poster and teaser on social media today. However, the announcement met with a lot of negative comments as Kangana did not even remotely look similar to J Jayalalithaa. There is heavy use of computer graphics and prosthetics to make Kangana look like Jayalalithaa.
It looks like the hard work put in by the makers have backfired heavily. It is unclear whether the makers will take note of the criticism and work on Kangana's look hereon.
While Kangana will essay the role of Jayalalithaa, Arvind Swami has been roped in to play late actor and politician MG Ramachandran aka MGR. Thalaivi, jointly produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Shailesh R Singh will release on June 26, 2020.
