Samantha is reuniting with Vijay for the fourth time in the upcoming film 'Thalapathy 67,' and reports suggest that she will play a negative character in the film. Samantha worked with Vijay in three films: 'Kaththi,' 'Theri,' and 'Mersal,' and her chemistry with the star helped in all three films. The stunning actress is reuniting with Vijay in 'Thalapathy 67,' which is reportedly set to be directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
According to the latest reports, Samantha will play a negative character, presumably a cop, and will not play Vijay's romantic interest in the film.
The film's official announcement has yet to be made, but it is expected to arrive at the end of August. Lokesh Kanagaraj is currently working on the final script for the film, which is said to be a gangster drama. His latest film, starring Ulaganaayakan Kamal Hassan, was an industrial hit that has crossed 400 crores worldwide and it is the highest-grossing Tamil film to date. The production of 'Thalapathy 67' is set to begin in October, with the film possibly hitting theatres later this year.
Actor Vijay is currently working on his upcoming Tamil-Telugu bilingual film Varisu, directed by Vamshi Paidipally. It is said that "Thalapathy 67" will mostly be a part of Lokesh's Cinematic Universe, which increases the anticipation for the film.
Samantha is currently in production on the Telugu films Shaakuntalam' and 'Kushi,' as well as the Tamil-Telugu bilingual 'Yasodha.'
