Thalapathy Vijay has announced his next project with director AR Murugadoss. The project marks its fourth-time collaboration. This film is tentatively titled 'Thuppakki 2' which is being bankrolled by Sun Pictures. Vijay-Murugadoss duo has earlier teamed up for the blockbuster films Thuppakki, Kathi, and Sarkar. These movies released in 2012, 2014, and 2018, respectively. The expectations are always high on this duo. An interesting update is doing rounds around the project now. According to that, Thaman will be scoring the music for this film. This will replace Murugadoss's frequent collaborators Harris Jayaraj & Anirudh Ravichander.
Looks like the Butta Bomma effect has grabbed the Thalapathy 65 team’s attention as well. although Thaman debuted into the Tamil industry long ago, this will be his first mainstream, high star cast film to compose for. Kajal Aggarwal will reprise her character in the sequel Thuppakki 2. This will make her fourth onscreen collaboration with Vijay. Apart from Thuppakki, Vijay and Kajal have shared the screen in the blockbuster movies 'Jilla' and 'Mersal'. The film will start rolling by the end of April 2020, once the Tamil film industry comes back to its normal routine after the coronavirus shutdown.
Vijay's current project is 'Master', under the direction of the hitmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film stars Vijay Sethupathi in the antagonist role, while the music is by Anirudh Ravi Chander. The film has wrapped up all it's post-production work and is locked to release. The makers shall announce the new release date soon.
